Meet Jerry and Edita Sorbito of Calubian, Northern Leyte, in the place they call home. The makeshift structure is so fragile that it has to be tied to mangrove trees to ensure it doesn’t drift away.
Their eldest daughter, Marinel, is 15 years old but only in Grade 3. Poverty prevents her and three other siblings from going to school continuously. Marinel dreams of becoming a teacher someday.
Jerry will soon receive his Peter Project boat and looks forward to earning better. Edita, his wife, will continue to do laundry at P100 per batch.
God bless your family, Jerry and Edita. May your lives wake to brighter mornings.
