Ironman Team Philippines Donates 40,000 Mingo Meals to NVC

Congratulations to Team Philippines for winning the Ironman Virtual Race Team Challenge Asia-Pacific Competition! The challenge took place over the course of three Fridays this May. Teams from Australia, Japan, and the Philippines competed for bragging rights and $5,000 to donate to their chosen charity. Team Philippines chose NVC Foundation as its beneficiary.

Meet the Team

Under the leadership of Team Captain Ines Santiago, Team Philippines ran and biked with their eyes on the prize.

Also contributing to the team effort were the online viewers who voted for the team during the weekly social media challenges. Team Philippines always topped the online voting challenges and that helped the team earn some precious points!

A Race to Remember

It was an exciting three weeks. We ended Day 1 in the lead, just 5 points ahead of Team Japan. On Day 2, Team Japan caught up with us so we entered Day 3 tied for first. Day 3 ended in celebration, with Team Philippines clinching the top spot with a lead of 10 points!

Thank you so much to Ian Banzon, Don Velasco, Chloe Jane Ong, Ronald Molit, Ani de Leon-Brown and Jael Wenceslao for your solid performances. And of course, thank you so much to Ines Santiago for leading the team to victory. A big hug to the entire Team Philippines for choosing NVC Foundation as your beneficiary. Because of your hard work, we can now feed 40,000 Mingo Meals to hungry children.
