“Tata for Now” Notecards in support of NVC Foundation’s Mingo Feeding Program. A set of 8 notecards with matching envelopes, 2 designs. These cards were produced in celebration of Tata Mapa’s life.
In the film “Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too”, Tigger was supposed to shout “Goodbye!” as he bounced off. But voice actor Paul Winchell ad libbed “TTFN, ta-ta for now!” and an iconic line was born. As a kid, writer and editor Tata Mapa loved that line, and adopted it as her own. When writing letters, she’d sign off by writing TTFN! Born with an artistic soul, Tata always yearned to be free. For a writing class assignment, she wrote about a red balloon that slipped out of her cousin’s grasp. Tata watched (a bit enviously) as the balloon bounced off rooftops, and soared up to the sky. In 2022, cancer set Tata’s spirit free. But that wasn’t goodbye, it was merely “Tata for now”. These cards, designed by Tata’s beloved niece, Carla Sebastian, imagine Tata’s spirit captured in a red balloon, visiting some of the places she loved here on earth. Proceeds of these cards will support the ongoing Mingo Meals Nutrition Program of NVC Foundation in partnership with the Sacred Heart Parish of Caloocan.
