When Trish Golez celebrated her 60th birthday, she requested LoveBags for needy schoolchildren instead of presents for herself. Her family and friends all together contributed 126 LoveBags, to which she added 80 more as her own thanksgiving for her milestone year.

The ladies from St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod Class ‘77 gifted 57 LoveBags in honor of classmate Trish.
If you wonder what these 60 kids of the Ata Manobo Tribe from Tiapo Elementary School in Brgy Gupitan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte mean by saying “dakol lagboy nu salamat” in the sign they carry, it’s a heartfelt “thank you very much” message for the colorful brand new LoveBags stuffed with school supplies beside them. For these kids who walk quite a distance through mountain trails to get to school each day, these backpacks are a big big help. Happy birthday, Trish, from the children you’ve helped a thousand kilometers, several rivers, and stretches of trails away.
