The Mingo Bus set out for a birthday sharelebration in Brgy Ubay, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental on the morning of July 29.
It was a rainy day but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits. In fact, the weather was perfect for the Mingo buns and piping hot Mingo champorado that we served. One hundred children and their mothers attended the event.
To end Nutrition Month with a bang, the kids came in costume. We loved seeing their creative outfits made by their mothers.
In addition to enjoying the delicious snacks, guests also enjoyed fun activities that helped them learn more about the importance of good nutrition. We showed an educational video after which we had a quiz bee.
The children were given stuffed toys for answering our questions correctly. The mothers also got to participate and the lucky winners were sent home with bags of rice.
As this was a birthday sharelebration, there were giveaways too! The birthday celebrant chose to give veggie bags to all the families in attendance so that they could enjoy healthy meals even after the party.
