A Haiyan refugee from Leyte

Meet Antoineth, a little girl from Leyte.

Antoineth and family rode the C-130 plane that carried evacuees from one of supertyphoon Haiyan’s worst-hit provinces to a refugee center in Manila. Camille Genuino of NVC Manila brought Mingo and other food resources to the evacuees. As Antoineth’s family was enjoying their early morning serving of Choco Mingo, we learned their story. Antoineth’s father is a rice farmer. Her mother, a stay at home mom. They lost everything except the few items they carried. In the light of all they had been through, his greatest worry is if his children can continue going to school in their temporary place of residence.
