“Don’t wait. Fill a plate.”
That was the battle cry on March 24, 2017 when NVC Foundation formalized a partnership with Equis Shared Services to launch the group’s Zero Hunger program in its Makati City office.
Equis Funds Group, headquartered in Singapore, is s a leading investor, developer, and operator of renewable energy in Asia. It not only focuses on sustainability projects using the earth’s finite resources, such as wind, water and the sun. The company’s commitment to sustainability reaches all the way to the lives of the people in its communities.
Equis has partnered with NVC Foundation to provide nutritious and healthy meals to 1,000 children in five areas of the Philippines where the company operates. For one year every day, these children will be given NVC’s Mingo Meals and Rise Against Hunger’s fortified rice meal packs, which contain dehydrated fruits and vegetables sourced from local farmers and processed in NVC’s production plant.
Because we both believe in sustainability, NVC’s partnership with Equis is envisioned to go beyond feeding. In the future, we will engage the communities in food security projects that enable families to grow their own nutritious food. Through livelihood programs, parents will ultimately be equipped to feed and educate their children.
