Evelyn wishes to remain anonymous beyond her first name, but we’d like to share her story anyway.
Evelyn works in a beauty salon in Manila. This morning, Mariel, one of NVC Manila’s members, visited the establishment. As she was about to leave the place, Evelyn slipped a P500 bill into Mariel’s hands, saying, “Ms. Mariel, pwede bang magbigay kahit kaunti para sa walang wala na sa buhay?”
Evelyn, her husband, and two children aged 1 and 11, are informal settlers in a crowded section of Manila. But today, Evelyn gave up some of her treasure for those who have less than the little she has.
So we set aside 125 Mingo meals, Evelyn’s donation. Thank you, Evelyn.
