In partnership with the Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI), NVC distributed 360 boxes of cake mix to 7 hacienda bakeries from July 13 to 16, 2021. These bakeries are owned by agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBO) in Negros Occidental.
The donated cake mixes gave the hacienda bakeries an additional source of income during the pandemic. “This new product we introduced is a big help. It added to our sales since they (the cupcakes) are not hard to sell. We plan to improve and enhance this product in the coming days to make our bakery grow,” Alexander Canto, Chair of Nabinay ARC Cadiz, said.
“The product added income to our bakery since they (the customers) are attracted to the product. We are planning to sell the cupcakes in the neighboring farms in the following days,” Hiyasmen Gabales, Treasurer of CASAL-AGAN ARC in Pontevedra said.
