On September 1, the first day of the Christmas season in the Philippines, a truck with 10,000 kilos of good quality rice arrived from our office. The delivery came from Rise Against Hunger Philippines. We began distributing rice to the communities we serve. First on the list was Brgy. RSB in La Carlota where we delivered rice to 74 families (photo on the far right). Next, our Fairy Godmother Team gave rice to each of the 105 families living at the Ferlou Relocation Site in La Carlota where NVC recently built 105 homes (bottom left photo). And on the morning of September 7, the Alianza Corn and Vegetable Association (ACAVA) sent a truck to our office and we loaded sacks of rice onto the truck. The ACAVA community was all smiles when they received their share of rice (bottom middle photo). We also gave rice to the Bacong Farmers. They picked up share on September 9 (bottom right photo). We made sure to give them rice because of their generosity. Although their storage areas and some of their homes were hit by a storm, they readily shared some of their seeds with the ACAVA farmers whose crops were wiped out by the same storm.
