Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo marked the opening of its 60th store in the Philippines, and second in Bacolod, with an outreach program to benefit 2 communities in the city in partnership with NVC. On October 17, 2019, 300 families received 3,000 pieces of clothing from Uniqlo along with Mingo champorado and pan de sal from Mingoy, NVC’s food shuttle.
Two new volunteers joined this activity with Uniqlo. A few days ago, Teo (in photo, bottom left) chanced upon NVC’s poster as he was walking along St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod. He sent a letter asking for volunteer opportunities, and we happened to have one scheduled just a couple of days later. Teo brought along his friend Javy (bottom right) and together they helped load Uniqlo bags in the morning, assemble our equipment, and serve kids and mothers later in the day.
