Japanese global apparel retailer Uniqlo Philippines will partner with the Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC) Foundation for its sustainability outreach program a day before it opens its second store in Bacolod City at the ground floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central on October 18.
Its new branch will be the 60th store in the Philippines and second in Bacolod, following the success of its SM Uniqlo store in the city.
Reiny Vergara, Uniqlo senior public relations and sustainability manager, said they will be donating 1,500 pieces of clothing to 300 families in a particular community in Bacolod City, in partnership with the NVC.
Millie Kilayko, NVC president, said NVC Foundation is excited to partner with Uniqlo in this endeavor as well as future projects that will involve our common interests especially in the areas of sustainability and education.
For this first project together, NVC Foundation’s Mingoy Food Shuttle will serve Mingo champorado meals from the bus to the families who will be receiving the clothing bundles from Uniqlo, she said.
“On that day, it will be Uniqlo and Mingo on the go!”, Kilayko added.*
