Every year, NVC joins prestigious holiday bazaars in Manila to market its handmade Artisans of Hope mosaics and crocheted items. The craftspeople who make the products directly benefit from each sale, and all proceeds are funneled back to our Mingo Meals nutrition program for undernourished children in the Philippines. In 2017, we joined the MaArte Fair at The Peninsula Manila, ArteFino in Rockwell Center, and the 32nd Negros Trade Fair in Glorietta Center.
Thanks to the buyers who patronized NVC’s Artisans of Hope products, a total of 127 children will be added to our Mingo Meals nutrition program. All these children have been previously identified to be in need of nutritional support. They will receive a daily Mingo sachet to supplement their diet for 6 months, and their weight and progress will also be monitored during the feeding period. The kids are located in the following areas:
- 33 in Toboso, Negros Occidental, in coordination with the Toboso Farmers and Workers Association
- 73 in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, in coordination with Butuan Elementary School
- 21 in Tacloban, Leyte, in coordination with Volunteers for Visayans
