Double Double-Up Mingo Challenge

August 18, 2026

A Successful First Round

Sometime in July, a very kind lady came to us with a very generous gift. To our  surprise, she offered to double up all the donations to enroll children in our Mingo Meals Nutrition Program during a specified period. Naturally, we were more than happy to accept her kind offer. Strictly speaking, the “promo period” should have ended in July. And because we managed to get sponsorship for 62 children, our Fairy Godmother should have sponsored 62 more children. This would have brought the total to 124. However, our Fairy Godmother told us she would extend her offer. We were delighted to learn she would keep doubling the numbers until we reached 105 sponsorships on our end.

Exceeding Our Target

So we set our sites on 105 sponsorships, knowing we would sponsor 210 children as a result of the challenge. Much to our delight, we exceeded our target. By the time we ended the challenge, we discovered we had donations to sponsor 215 children. Our Fairy Godmother kept her promise and sponsored the 105 children she said she would. So all in all, we managed to sponsor 320 children in our Mingo Meals Nutrition Program.

It Ain’t Over Till the Fairy Godmother Says So

We thought that the Double-Up Challenge had successfully ended but our Fairy Godmother had a surprise for us! To our delight, she offered to sponsor another 35 children. And so we posted about Round 2 of the Double-Up Challenge on our social media pages. Round 2 began on August 7 and by August 11, we received funds to sponsor 35 more children in our Mingo Meals Nutrition Program. With that, we announced the end to our wonderful Double-Up Program. In the end, we received sponsorships for a total of 280 children. We would not have been able to do this without a lot of help from our friends! Thank you to all our amazing donors, most especially to our Fairy Godmother!
