Flavors That Give Back
Marissa’s Artisan Ice Cream has made a mark for itself among gourmands. The brand recently unveiled four very special flavors: Banana Split, Caramel Choco Chips, Choco Brittle, and Langkasuy. Not only are these new flavors oh so delicious, they support our Mingo Buns for PGH campaign. These Mingo Buns will go to healthcare workers, patients, and patients’ companions at PGH. Moreover, Marissa’s use of Mingo Gold in two of these flavors supports beneficiaries of our various Nutrition, Livelihood and Education programs.
Tasty Scoops
Langkasuy is a delectable blend of langka and casuy in a creamy base. It also contains some Mingo Gold! Mingo Gold complements the flavor and increases the nutritional value of the dessert.
Choco Brittle contains Mingo Gold Chocolate! Try this decadent chocolate ice cream studded with nutty brittle.
Banana Split, is the brainchild of NVC President, Millie Kilayko. This delightful blend of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice creams gets an extra punch of flavor from bananas. Marshmallows, crunchy walnuts, maraschino cherries, and luscious chocolate swirl make this ice cream even more special.
Marissa’s latest creation is Caramel Choco Chips. Try this dreamy combination of homemade caramel custard and chocolate chips folded into Marissa’s signature creamy vanilla ice cream. Everything is drizzled with homemade butterscotch syrup.
First Drop
On October 27, our supplier delivered 820 Mingo Buns to PGH from Marissa’s Artisan Ice Cream and Friends. These Mingo Buns were donated in loving memory of Fr. Salty de la Rama, S.J, who passed away earlier this year. Fr. Salty was a former chaplain of PGH while makes this donation more meaningful. Please support our Mingo Buns for PGH campaign by purchasing these flavors that give back. You can purchase the flavors individually or you can purchase the Giving Back Package which includes all four special flavors.
Second Delivery
On November 24, Marissa’s Artisan Ice Cream and Friends donated another 500 Mingo Buns to PGH. Fr. Mamert Mañus, S.J. of the PGH Chaplaincy received the donation. Just like last time, these were donated in loving memory of Fr. Salty de la Rama, S.J. With your support, the group can continue to make monthly donations of bread to feed hospital staff, patients, and patients’ companions.
More than Just Great Ice Cream
The brand is also famous for its signature flavors such as Pecan Pie ala mode and Apple Pie ala mode, both made with homemade pies. Marissa bakes them from scratch following her mother’s recipe.
