Negros Trade Fair raises 8,800 Mingo Meals

September 29, 2019

NVC squeezed itself into a 7.5 square meter booth at the Negros Trade Fair from September 25-29, 2019 in Glorietta, Makati, to earn more Mingo Meals for the children we serve.

Thank you to all of you who dropped by and brought home a piece of work from our Artisans of Hope livelihood workshop or batwan powder for your pantry. Because you did, 8,800 more Mingo Meals will be churned out of our production plant and sent off to feed hungry little stomachs in provinces we serve across the Philippine archipelago.

Scroll down for more photos and stories from the Negros Trade Fair 2019.

Matty, Pelle and Nikki held a conference at the NVC booth. Then they pulled out their money, counting every bill and every coin until they reached the amount they needed to pay for a Mingo card with a crocheted parol for their lola. The card represents a gift that keeps on giving because it helps feeding kids with Mingo Meals.
Our earrings made from upcycled Nespresso capsules are walking down the ramp! Camille Llorente, who is representing our home province in the upcoming Miss Philippines competition, purchased a pair to wear with one of her outfits.
People dropped off their used Nespresso capsules at the NVC booth. These are, to us, more precious than jewels because they help us provide livelihood and feed more kids. Thus, as long as we get the chance, in the same manner that we do turnover photos for donations whether these are in hundreds or millions, we also do turnover photos for the capsules, too!
Colección Abanico. Turn of the century Filipina ladies, elegantly dressed and holding fans in different settings. No two pieces alike, fashioned from Nespresso capsules, eggshells and ceramic tiles, in table top sizes (with option to hang) and packed in handy gift boxes.
Mother & Child + Breastfeeding Mother: Mosaic Wall Art to pay tribute to our mothers.
Statuettes made from pulverized eggshells and a mosaic of Nespresso capsules, cracked eggshells, and other discarded materials.
