NVC has been collecting donations for Mingo Buns for PGH. A Mingo Bun is your regular soft pan de sal with the addition of Mingo. We facilitate the ordering and delivery of the Mingo Buns. Meanwhile, the team of Fr. Lito Ocon, SJ (hospital chaplain) takes care of distribution. The Mingo Buns are given to the staff and patients of PGH, as well as the companions of the patients. Take note that as per protocol, the companions can no longer leave the premises even to buy food after they have had their swab tests. Besides, many of them do not have the means to buy food. According to Fr. Lito, these Mingo buns are often the only sustenance they can get their hands on.
Yesterday, we received a thank you postcard and photos of happy Mingo Bun recipients from Fr. Lito. Thank you to all those who have shared Mingo Buns with PGH!
